Manushi Secondary School - Block 933,501
SCHOOL 1 of 11 - 42 PADS delivered - 1 kit = 2 lives impacted
On Friday, 23rd January, Block 933,501, the Hedhi Huru team visited Manushi Secondary School in the Kilimanjaro region to deliver reusable menstrual health kits and provide menstrual health education to students.
The team on the ground included Man Like Kweks, Sats Tagga, Twalibu, Jacob, Vincent, and Brian from Chapsmart, working alongside our partners from the Dada’s Group who make and produce the kits in Moshi, Tanzania. We were warmly welcomed by both staff and students and given the opportunity to spend meaningful time with the school community.

Impact Delivered
During the visit, we distributed 42 reusable menstrual pad kits to students. Each kit contains:
• 8 reusable pads
• 2 pad holders
• 2 pairs of underwear
• A waterproof storage bag
• Soap and flannel
• A kitenge drawstring bag
These kits help remove a key barrier to school attendance, supporting girls to continue their education with confidence and dignity.

Education & Engagement
Before receiving their kits, approximately 30 students completed a short questionnaire to help us understand their existing knowledge of menstrual health. This will support future monitoring and evaluation.

Helen from the Dada’s Group in Moshi then led an interactive session explaining how the pads work, how to care for them, and how to use them correctly. The students and teachers asked thoughtful questions, creating an open and supportive learning environment.

1 Kit = 2 Lives Impacted
Each menstrual health kit supports two lives.
• A student, who is better able to attend school consistently and focus on her studies
• An artisan, often a single mother, who has been trained as a tailor and earns a fair income producing the kits locally

By supporting Hedhi Huru, donors help strengthen education while also creating sustainable livelihoods for women in the community. This circular approach ensures impact travels beyond the classroom and into households.
Conversations Beyond the Classroom
Following the session, we met with the Headmaster, where we shared how the project is funded entirely through Bitcoin donations. He expressed strong interest in learning more, and we were able to leave the school with a copy of The Bitcoin Standard in Kiswahili for staff to explore and continue their learning.
What Comes Next
This visit marks the beginning of an ongoing relationship with Manushi Secondary School. We will return within three months to carry out monitoring and evaluation, gathering feedback from students and teachers on attendance, confidence, and classroom participation.

How You Can Support
Hedhi Huru is now working to support 10 additional schools across the Kilimanjaro region. Supporters can contribute via this Geyser fund, where it is possible to purchase a menstrual health kit for a student.
Each kit helps a girl stay in school and enables a trained artisan to earn a living. 1 kit = 2 lives impacted.
Thank you to everyone supporting this work — your sats are creating lasting change.
