Unpopular take: monarchs have better incentive alignment than democracies.
Why?
Their legacy is their children's inheritance.
They think in generations, not election cycles.
Our democracy has leaders...
In America, hopefully state succession, followed by county succession and I think that would do it. I think democracy can work at certain scales, just not on the scale we are in right now.
But I would also be happy with the US being 1000 monarchies bound by some ultra basic laws, and voluntarily subscribing to a defence pact of some kind
