⚡️🇬🇧 NEW - Stop Killing Games says it has won a major victory after joining Mozilla, Proton, Amnesty International, Reporters Without Borders, and several major VPN providers to oppose UK plans that could have restricted VPNs.
The UK government has confirmed it will not ban or require age checks for VPNs. Instead, it will focus on other ways to stop children from bypassing online age checks, while recognizing that VPNs are important for privacy and security.
SKG says this is part of its wider campaign against parts of the UK’s Online Safety Act.
The group believes internet restrictions and software age checks could make it harder to support mods, private servers, Linux, independent software, and game preservation.
