I resolve this problem (that it is not some sort of free will simulation, that we are not just a subset of particles and positive and negative energetic forces, recycled like an etch a sketch) by a deep meditation on The Trinity.
1. Imagine God the Father (the creator). Follow Him all the way back with your mind, to the beginning of time. Visualize Him creating all of the "things" (e.g. matter, forces) that you describe in your problem.
* This is where most people stop. Generally this ends in despair, or a form of "enlightened" materialism. *
2. Now imagine God the Son (Jesus Christ). Visualize eternity in a different direction than God the Father: visualize the Eternal Now. Imagine all of the "nows" that have ever been, and will ever be. Imagine great "nows" in the lives of your friends and your enemies, of children and adults, of newborns and the dying. Suffuse all of those "nows" in a radiant love that emanates from God the Son, just as you imagine all of the "matter and forces" emanating from God the Father.
* Try to reach this realization: this 2nd form of creation is beyond matter and forces and energy. It is a truly SPIRITUAL creation. *
3. Now contemplate The Holy Spirit. This is a 3rd and separate "direction" of creation, of eternity: the eternal future. Fathom the spirit of prophecy— go all the way to the end of time and attempt to visualize God there. Watch him as he creates backwards in time— not matter, but Meaning, Purpose, Goodness, and above all else Divine Wisdom (the Holy Sophia).
* Try to feel divine healing as something separate from matter, from force, from energy (your problem, your mental trap); as well, try to feel it as separate from the eternal now. We are talking about an eternal future that is healed of the paradox of Fate with respect to Freedim and a loving God. Contemplate this strange saying of Christ:
And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.
