29 trillionths of a gram from a machine that cost $4.5 billion dollars. Sounds like quantum computing is a bigger risk to bitcoin than slamming particles together is for gold.
I think the risk is about the same, give or take. Quantum computing is breaking double digit numbers. 256 bit Bitcoin keys are like 96 digits. 128 bit are smaller, but we're a long way away from the quantum threat unless there is a monumental breakthrough.
