A little update on my journey.
When I first started sharing my story here, my goal was to raise enough to join Makerere and continue my education. I believed that with a little help from enough people, I could get there.
I tried. I shared the campaign, reached out, and waited.
But sometimes the path you plan for yourself isn't the path that opens first.
I haven't been able to raise enough for campus yet. And honestly, that was difficult to accept. But instead of sitting still and waiting for another opportunity, I started asking myself:
What can I build with what I can realistically raise today?
That's how the grocery idea came up. 🛒
The beautiful thing is that it doesn't require hundreds or thousands of dollars to begin. A small shop in my neighborhood can start with around $300, about $30 for the space and roughly $270 for initial stock.
That's a much smaller mountain to climb.
So I'm changing the goal, not giving up on the dream.
The plan is simple: start the grocery business, sell, reinvest, grow it little by little, and use that income to keep moving forward, including getting myself back toward school.
