General writing:
- Habla .news is deteriorating but used to work great, attaches repetitive zap splits on editing though.
- Yakihonne .com work great sometimes, but hangs on publishing a lot. Can't save drafts because it also hangs there.
- Cypher .space works & even respects format on copy/paste but publishes with invalid eventIDs.
- Untype .app is half built but always works to publish. If you've published once, the blank page upon returning to the app is actually an empty edit of the last publication so it's easy to overwrite your own work by accident. Always click 'new'.
- Highlighter .com looks pretty, but has never successfully published for me. It's very nice for reading though. I don't end up there for that very often, as I do more reading from spontaneous discovery.
- Obsidian extensions work great. I'm just not organized enough to use Obsidian regularly.
More specialized writing:
- Wikifreedia .xyz was flawless but I've only written there once. Nice reading experience.
- Alexandria .gitcitadel .eu appears to work until I go looking for my publications, then I can't find them anywhere.
- Zap .cooking might be very specific long-form but it works great. I really wish more reading places supported its output. Spoiled me wishes they'd continue developing it.
As far as reading goes, I end up reading most in Amethyst because I'm being lazy when I'm reading & it formats damn well for a social app. Reading on npub .pro sites & oracolo .me sites is generally nicer if looking for a specific author's words, though. Reading on Alexandria is nice, but the colors are a little too similar for my eye comfort. Opposite of Primal, which is too high contrast for my eyes. I'm pretty neutral on other places that I've read. No news is good news, in that sense.
