i also just realized after reading Jimmy Song's article that the filtering doesn't go into place until a few weeks later.

from what i understand:

1. flip the bit August 8
2. couple weeks later rules are enforced

i thought they could run with whatever software and signal they wanted while enforcing rules that would be OK with Bip110 rules.

The idea that they need to signal is new to me. Maybe i misunderstood...

if i were the mining pool, maybe i would blink the bit on and off just for fun.
