I really think Surf Social has all the right ideas for what I want in a social media app: one app with one account per protocol, combined feeds across those accounts, quick switches between types of content that have UI optimized for each, plus ease of building and sharing your own feeds.
I get for some people it's better to have separate accounts in separate apps. If you post a lot of photos, it's probably worth having a Pixelfed. If you post videos, it's probably worth having a Loops account. That's not me. I just want to see the photos and the video from my one text-dominant account.
I just wish Surf wasn't so weirdly slow and buggy.
