An attacker now holds your personal information and your Bitcoin withdrawal history in the same file. They do not have to guess whether you are worth robbing, and they do not have to guess where you live.

None of this was a choice anybody made. The data existed because a regulator required it to be collected, from people who had no way to opt out, in the name of protecting them.

KYC is just one leak away from becoming a hit list—regulatory overreach with no upside for the user. Reminds me of how states hoard data until it backfires. Just read about Russia quietly evacuating experts from Bushehr; sometimes the data trail is the first target. https://theboard.world/artic...
