@nprofile1q... It is the process, but I wasn't smart enough to put the drive serial number on the drive sled, and I'm sure my vdev layout is less than optimal. (I wasn't sure how to think through the trade-offs.)
And I'm likely not doing replication to my second ZFS box well, plus I doubt my shares are quite right for my specific mix of systems.
