One thing which confuses me about social media is the endless cycles of drama and gossip.

Take this one for example, there's some huge drama about a twitch streamer. There's a conspiracy theory that he's using a shock collar on his dog.... As far as i can tell, it's just a vibrating collar... But i don't get it... I mean secretary of homeland security Kristi Noem proudly told the story of shooting and killing her family dog... Even Mitt Romney strapped his dog on the roof of his car while going on a family road trip vacation.

Shock collars might not be great, but they're a perfectly common tool sold in most pet stores... How can somebody be canceled for a rumor that they might use one, and are hiding the evidence despite live streaming their own live 24/7?

I haven’t heard about this drama. But it is not surprising. That’s what NPCs do.

Most likely, a rumour was turned into an opportunity and a smear campaign was launched. Because of his leftist views, he has become the target of many people. He was even detained at the airport not too long ago.

Piker has been preaching violence for years, and none of his followers batted an eye. It wasn't until he used a shock collar to punish his dog for stepping off the bed she's forced to lay on on for 4+ hours at a time, that his audience is waking up to what a piece of shit he is. Some part of that...

This usermag.co editorial is garbage propaganda btw. And not garbage as in false. Garbage as in not-even-good-at-being-propaganda propaganda. It's just weak anecdotal arguments in support of Piker, weak emotional arguments against "the far right", and then page after page of conflating livestreamin...

I've been hassled for using a shock collar before. I think the context matters but it is easy to judge without gathering that information. You could absolutely use a shock collar just to be cruel. Or, maybe you just got a rescue dog that likes to try to run off, can easily get to the nearest highwa...
