{"title":"University Gatherings in Venezuela.","description":"My name is Hampherny Rico—better known on social media as @HamphernyR—and I am the founder of a Bitcoin Cash adoption project called CriptoCatia. \n\nWe have been working hard to drive Bitcoin Cash adoption in Venezuela since early 2022.\n\nTo briefly summarize CriptoCatia’s work: we have directly onboarded over 4,000 students, and indirectly influenced the adoption of the currency by more than 10,000 people, including students, merchants, and users of other cryptocurrencies. \n\nThese are tangible results, evident in the day-to-day education and sound understanding of how to use Bitcoin Cash regularly at businesses and on exchange platforms—swapping stablecoins for BCH, or vice versa.\n\nObjective: \n\nDuring a 2024 trip, I attended the Bitcoin Cash Conference in Argentina and subsequently lived in the country for 19 months. \n\nThis allowed me to learn about BCH adoption there and engage closely with the local Bitcoin Cash community. \n\nIt was a rewarding experience where I could both contribute and learn, gaining insights to apply back in Venezuela. \n\nSince returning home, I have received invitations from the Central University of Venezuela (UCV) to host a new series of educational gatherings on Bitcoin Cash. \n\nIt is worth noting that this is the country's most important and prestigious university; we already enjoy significant appreciation and recognition there thanks to the adoption events and fairs held in 2023, which engaged a large part of the university community and established a Bitcoin Cash usage ecosystem on campus. \n\nProposal: \n\nWe are seeking community support to launch a new phase of university gatherings and engage more students. \n\nA new generation of students has arrived during the nearly two-year hiatus in UCV adoption activities. \n\nWe view the university as our greatest ally in ensuring Bitcoin Cash gains high visibility within the academic sphere, just as it has in the past. \n\nWe plan to hold between five and ten gatherings at the Central University of Venezuela, with an expected attendance of 30 to 50 students per session. \n\nEach student will attend an educational workshop covering the origins of cryptography and the primary goal of creating Bitcoin as electronic cash.\n\nI will also discuss the \"hijacking\" of BTC, how Bitcoin Cash has upheld Satoshi Nakamoto’s original vision, and our continued commitment to the libertarian message opposing the banking system. \n\nWe will provide a step-by-step guide on how to register and create a profile on BCH Nostr, explaining the platform's features and functions in detail. \n\nParticipants will receive a \"Cash Stamp\" to set up their first Bitcoin Cash wallet and acquire their initial BCH funds, ready for use at any merchant in Caracas that accepts Bitcoin Cash.\n\nCall for funding.\n\nWe are asking the BCH Nostr community to support this campaign to raise the funds needed to hold a series of educational events. \n\nThe required funds will be used to finance between 250 and 500 \"Cash Stamps,\" each loaded with the equivalent of $2 USD in Bitcoin Cash. \n\nSince the funds raised will go entirely toward funding the new wallets of participating students, we would appreciate any additional support from the community to help cover the operational costs of our adoption team. \n\nWe thank everyone who supports us in this challenging effort to provide more education about electronic cash at the Central University of Venezuela. \n\nFor more information or questions regarding this campaign, you can contact me on Telegram and X as @HamphernyR, or on X as @CriptoCatia.","goalSats":499882657,"deadline":1787106444,"bchAddress":"bitcoincash:qzs0zfq0yd2h84cx8p3tkn96v9whlxxyecy9ut8gu9","image":"https://npub1jlkvln6t3u6rzj8fx04l3n8vlmcsfylh7t4xd7nqhgwllt69l4sq9hsdct.blossom.band/79949a1a5d734fb93c158f29c0a73a3ab3026101f14290f30a02aaf3152682d6.jpg","createdBy":"97eccfcf4b8f343148e933ebf8ccecfef10493f7f2ea66fa60ba1dffaf45fd60"}
