Yea I could 100% see it be the classic self serving regulatory moat or a marketing angle. But for me I was scared of how ai would play out before llms and I’ve been blown away about what they can do...

I just heard on a podcast something that resonated with me. If you're the CEO of Anthropic or OpenAI and you're saying that you're developing something that will destroy the world, you should do either of:

1. Close the company
2. Resign and let someone else run it who can develop the AI without the major risks

But doing neither tells me that it's all a political game.

I see it differently. I think the most likely scenario is that they’ve both realized they are developing the most important thing of our generation. It is a fine line between developing too recklessly and too slowly, both will lead to failure. Who will be able to thread that needle or walk the lin...
