Ok, I heard someone on a podcast say, “They don’t need pictures of our photo IDs, the algorithm already knows how old we are based on our behaviour. They can just ask for proof of those who are tagged as under 18, if they don’t comply they get shutdown. This way they don’t “need” “everyone’s” ID.”

Am I crazy to think this guy has a point.

Simple to bypass 1: start new account 2: consume lots content aimed at elders (easily automated) 3: account flagged as 18+ YouTube does a version of this today in some countries, and kids use the above to bypass.
