While you can't have a unique name, per say, you can verify yourself via a domain you control.

I forget what exactly it is though.

You don't necessarily need to do this though a domain you control. There are a variety of services that offer NIP-05 addresses. They are less useful for verifying identity than they are for giving friends a human readable way to look you up without using your npub.
