As much as I like recreational bike travel -- in order to overcome car dependency, we'd rather need safe and usable cycling infrastructure in towns and cities and along commuter routes. And to make everyday cycling a viable and affordable option, we might need a government body to enforce standardisation and maintainability for bicycle components...!
