Bad take. Lincoln ended slavery with the emancipation proclamation.

I’m not ‘murican so can’t comment on Presidents, but… the PMs I grew up thinking (was told) were the worst turned out, on reflection, to be on the better side of bad

The Confederate museum had a ton of books smelling Lincoln. Not surprising, but I was always curious to go down that rabbit hole and see what was there.

I would love some elaboration

All 3 of these Presidents were elected and then re-elected (FDR 3 times) by the American public. As much as you may not like them for things you prioritize in 2024, the contemporaneous majorities disagree with you, and these 3 were responding to their constituents at the time.

I’d change the order - Wilson is by far the worst. Probably FDR second. Lincoln set the standard for fighting wars of choice, however, which continues unabated.

I see a common theme to those three.

I still haven't drunken the anti-Lincoln koolaid. I get it, he was a tyrant. But when you shun natural laws for long enough, you end up with the law of the jungle and all that comes with it. I haven't heard a credible theory about how you avoid Lincoln without 2-4 more generations of chattel slavery...
