What does everyone do moving BTC to Lightning? Is there a wallet that accepts BTC and then can send out Lightning? Or a way to send BTC directly to a node? #asknostr

I know Coinbase can accept BTC and send Lightning but I’d prefer a different solution.

Boltz.exchange can swap it for you

You need to open a channel if you’re not running your own node. Try nostr:npub1xnf02f60r9v0e5kty33a404dm79zr7z2eepyrk5gsq3m7pwvsz2sazlpr5

Phoenix Wallet does this for you. Aqua Wallet offers something similar but keeps the Bitcoin on Liquid—you can still use it for Lightning. Check them out!

Up until phoenix was banned from USA that was a good option. Seems like I can still send out of that wallet, maybe it still works. Something like a 3k sat fee for any amount to transfer BTC to lightning. Also Aqua works well for BTC to L-BTC. A little vague from a user experience as to whether it...

Where are you receiving to on the Lightning side? If it is a custodial wallet, such as nostr:nprofile1qyt8wumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnrda5kummn9e5k7tcqyzagpxgxvmhskm6t55zex3a7kyey9ys723nfu6qqvn9825jk5836v8xsdxk then I would recommend Boltz.Exchange. If it is self-custody, why not use your on-chain funds ...

Aqua and Muun but Muun is more of my go-to

You can receive BTC into a Coinos account and send out Lightning and vice versa. We charge 0.1% when you withdraw over another network than you deposited on.

For custodial, River or Strike can serve this purpose better than Coinbase. You don't have to leave funds with the custodian for long but can instead use them as a pretty seamless "swap" service to get in/out of Lightning. For non-custodial, Aqua is probably the simplest. Requires a couple steps b...

If you run your own node, you can send it directly there. Seed phrase backup and everything. On chain funds can then be spent to open channels, purchase inbound liquidity, whatever suits you. This is a hot wallet so understand the tradeoffs and risks. It’s a dive, but this is a decent startin...
