Did you hear of direct democracy? Or grassroots democracy? So basically decisionmaking processes that are made the same way as we do it in free software. People who agree in a cause cooperate freely. ...

I know about direct democracy Cyprus party, the other I wasn’t aware of.

I believe for true democracy to be achieved we should have a say in all decisions, using the digital signature software government already use.

Politicians could limit themselves to proposing the documented ideas, then citizens vote.

With clear government budgets, if a minimum of votes is reached for a decision it could be implemented, if it doesn’t reach, a reformation of that proposal to fit the allocated budget granted by the votes could be a way to go.

This obviously requires citizens to be constantly checking for proposals, at least in their region or nation-wide. But I still believe there’s no other true way of achieving democracy. If you vote for political parties that you THINK will act according to your interests, you basically have no control.

This is mostly the model of switzerlands direct democracy, which you describe. Still analog for security. But who knows if one day we find good secure digital voting mechanisms. I definitly see huge improvements from digital voting.
