i thought nostr could solve the problem of having to install 42 apps for chatting with frens & family. i now have 69 and they STILL don't talk to each other and nobody can tell me why. it's just me shouting into the relay void, hoping that planets align and the other end uses the same brotocol. i just wanted to send some fart noises to my bros for shits and giggles :Sadge: is that a big ask?

What are you on about.....what is this uninteroperable Nostr you keep referencing, i use a bazillion different clients every day and it works fine. Are you complaining about chat/dm? If DMs are what keeps failing, there are two encryption standards in play, the older NIP-04 and the newer NIP-44 wrapped in NIP-17, and the ecosystem is still mid-transition, so some clients and relays only support one. Check which DM standard your apps speak.

Even if everything eventually starts working smoothly, I still can’t imagine convincing my friends to install at least two apps just to deal with a signer.
