pure-play ai labs have no moat. i don't think they can build a sustainable business model long term. open weight models are "good enough", catch up fast and there is no switching cost. they are calling for a time-out to keep the scam going for a lil bit longer.

This narrative is an attack on open source and open weight models. As open models continue to improve, eventually all companies will run their own local models and not give "Big AI" all the delicious data that they need to fuel their model's growth. Eventually, companies will stop buying tokens. ...
