The devs behind nitter received a cease and desist from X. nitter is open source software that allows people to see posts on X without an account, without JavaScript, basically in private. If nostr wasn't so Bitcoin maxi focused, it would be a good place for people disillusioned by X to come to.

Instead, Bitcoin maximalists like @fiatjaf have made sure nostr is mostly a place for Bitcoin maximalists, with tons of native features designed just for Bitcoin, with niche Bitcoin features only diehard maxis care about and will use.
