we live in a world where everything is designed to kill you. you can't even eat an apple without worrying about everything around it.

the apple's waxed and sprayed with pesticides. so you go to wash it… tap water's full of toxic chemicals. so you grab a pitcher with a filter… can't, it's plastic, leaching into the water. so you go to wipe the apple… can't, paper towels are bleached. so you grab a rag… that rag was washed in toxic detergent and it's in the fabric. so you're like fuck it, i'll plant one… can't, the soil is dead. no nutrients left. the apple would be empty anyway.

how the f*ck are you supposed to live a long and healthy life when everything around you is built to kill you?

It’s the convenience dilemma. One change at a time. Start with water, find the cleanest you can. Then food, local first preferred. Then keep going 🤙🏼

Pretty simple actually : God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, And wisdom to know the difference.

Heh heh.... Follow the chain from soil and seed to growth to harvest to transport to packaging to transport to placement to purchase to preparation to consumption. There are innumerable weaknesses. But! You can reinvigorate your soil and grow/harvest your own and cut this weaknesses by 90%. Or y...

Stay calm, eat beef, play in the sun (not too much), ignore the rest. You should be fine, unless you live near a toxic waste dump.

Just try to choose your battles and not overthink what you can’t change. Eat more unprocessed food, move your body, cultivate good relationships, work on your spirituality, think positive. Circumstances do the rest.

Nourish and protect the living soil at all cost!!!

Feel the same way, but we just have to pick the beat options available i think. Buy perfume free detergent, organic cotton clothes, organic and/or closely grown food, and non-recycled paper, and live where air and water quality are decent. We then also support the creation of cleaner alternatives

Honestly, I’ve been finding the world really hard to tolerate lately, especially these past few months. For me, the only things that still feel bearable are Bitcoin and Nostr.

You can’t fix it completely. But get yourself some land. Plant lots of trees and let the soil recover. Did this and it is surprisingly fast how everything fixes itself if you let nature do its job. What you can’t fix is obviously the water and air as it highly depends on what happens around y...

planting an apple tree is the best of those options. On a large scale, soil needs ruminant animals, cover crops etc but on a small scale, soil can be renewed relatively easily
