I think most people know better by now. The book in advance feature is just an app feature where the app schedules a booking at a future date/time. There is zero guarantee that you will get a car or any better outcome than if you were to request the car manually at the given time.

This sounds no different than renting from Enterprise Rent A Car. I had to put a car in the repair shop due to a wreck, called a week in advance to let them know I would be coming to pickup, and when I arrived they didn’t have any vehicles.😤
