FOSS is about the license (anyone can see/modify the code). Freedom tech is about the purpose. Does it advance individual sovereignty, censorship resistance, self custody, decentralization? If yes, then it's freedom technology.

Good distinction. Open source tells you who can inspect it, freedom tech tells you what power it gives back. The sweet spot is software that is both auditable and hard to coerce.
