i was trying for wodehouse inspired narration of real events. it *was* the fence builder's heifer that escaped. i didn't realize that was funny til someone pointed that out. the only fib was in real life the heifer was a bigger problem that the farmer would rather get rid of quick so as not to cause trouble/disease. the 2000$ that it was worth would get burnt up quick in treating sick cows.
