100% our barn cat (doesnt live in the barn but started there) is 100% outdoors only, well except severe storms or weather then he gets to go in the garage. It is very doable and he is the friendliest cat I have ever known.

My neighbor built heated outdoor cat houses for the cats that roam the neighborhood. He feeds them, puts out water for them, and also even has toys for them.
