Please help settle a debate I’ve been having with my girlfriend about running a node.

Let’s say Core 30 gets issued and some sicko puts a disgusting, foul picture in the allowed larger OP Return.
After that, We spin up a node using an older version of Core or Knots.
Is that disgusting filth stored on my computer that’s running the node?

I do understand that it won’t be in my mempool using implementations only allowing small OP Returns, but is the nasty content stored on my drive if I’m running a full node?

Thank you. Great content you provide.

Every node will relay the content that makes it into a block. This is exactly why knots doesn’t accomplish anything. There is already lude content on chain and thus on every node right now. It has no effect on Bitcoin and it has no effect on us using Bitcoin. Hardly anyone knew this before this ...
