Someone says one or two off-color or offensive things, fine... A few more and I might unfollow... But if that's like their "whole deal", it's the mute list for them.

I think the only person I have muted is the flat earth guy because I was seeing it sooooo much in my feed even though I don't follow. The rest are all the bots and porn spam 🤷‍♀️. I could probably unmute the guy but meh.

The only thing in my life i ever tried to block and failed doing so were the reply guys and people i don't know sending me random dm's on platforms where it would prevent them from seeing if i was online or not. Specifically in public discourse i would still like to see what a person is saying, eve...

I've never found mute for real people particularly useful with few exceptions. Determined trolls and poorly configured bots are more worth filtering.

Trick is: mute bots and scammers, not people you disagree with 💜
