What ever even happened to the whole El Salvador buying bitcoin after being banned from doing so by the IMF? IMF denied they were buying, ES said they were.

Did we ever figure out what was going on there?

El salvadore had a meeting. Someone said, "Let's keep buying and just tell em we stopped." Everyone agreed. So that's what they did.

I suspect part of the purchases were simply not selling the BTC they obtained after paying the users of the former Chivo Wallet as it was wound down.
