perhaps but i don't think she trying to be a hero. she's fighting against been branded and treated as something she is not, which is the universal struggle of women.
her intentions are not what is being referred to. she needed love and empathy. but now she is being used. her personal suffering is being used by others to justify indulging their own resentments with a plausible deniability mask of self righteousness.
