I would agree if those Africans had gone anywhere else by themselves and built a civilization on par with America. White Europeans built Australia, South Africa, Hong Kong as well. And that's not to mention the resources that West Africa has. Let's be serious now

None of those places have America's standard of living. Because all of those places had kings! West Africa was crawling with them like grubs in a sago palm. Hard to build anything worthwhile when it belings to somebody else before you've built it. (There are many near-analogs of kings)
