I stopped using Adobe products when they moved to the subscription model. As an occasional amateur photographer, I never really felt the subscription made sense for me. I now use DxO PhotoLab and pay to upgrade occasionally. I’m happy with that but should look at the opensource options again.

Very very brave. Replacing your tools for your craftmanship is not easy. Good luck and keep us updated with the progress (and share any frictions so we could use these to learn from it)!

The first step on my journey was deciding to only use open source software. Probably Photoshop was the hardest to give up, and I still don't feel that there is a good alternative, but I gave it up anyway. I'm with ya.
