@nprofile1q... Yeah, I have similar feelings. I think the fact that there are open FPGA cores for N64 (https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/N64_MiSTer) helps a lot and there are pretty accurate clone consoles now.

I think it'll be tough finding and commercial hardware that still produced that has similar graphical capabilities. The lowest end GPUs you see in SoCs now are like the Mali-400 which is definitely more powerful than N64/PS1. Would be tough to build something similar without using an FPGA
