Yesterday afternoon I had to mow the lawn. Even though it's usually a boring chore, this time it was useful - a couple of NetBSD project ideas came to mind.

At some point, the usual elderly neighbour showed up, complaining that I wasn't using the lawnmower properly. I explained it's old and heavy.
He started teasing me that "you young people don't know how to do these things".
I suggested he show me how.
So he stepped up, all confident - and couldn't move it even a meter. He then started saying I need to buy a new one because this one doesn't work, it's no good.
I replied that "you older folks are so wasteful - it works perfectly fine, you just need the energy to use it".

He walked away smiling, but with his tail between his legs.
