entering into software late (just shy of 30) is often weird. friends groups and peers who have been in the game a while longer have better context for things in depth that I lack and experience shipping that I'll never get to. financially too, it's a different. i'm doing well enough but i didn't FANG/startup in my 20's and didn't vest a bunch (or at all).

Anyway, just reflecting on the lower middle class life I'm living. Very thankful for it but it's often apparent to me how late to the game i am. I often ponder the best way to pivot from this lifestyle into a more self-sufficient lifestyle working my small plot of land.

I am also a late bloomer in a lot of ways. I think it's nice because in many ways I was able to come to things on my own terms. I am in a similar boat, I still make more money than most around me but still lower middle class since In the US you are either poor, in debt (poor but pretend you are not), or rich

There’s still time. I’ve seen people recently with seemingly no experience writing or maintaining software get high paying jobs. Of course they’re determined and put in work but they show it’s possible to change your situation.
