I don't think the comparison stands man:
- If my landlord gives me a shitty service I can choose to tell him to fuck off and go rent somewhere else (he's got an incentive to provide me a good service)
- if my government uses my tax money in a shitty way I cannot choose to not pay them (moving to another country is not a realistic option for most people cause family ties, lack of money, language problem).

Changing house to rent and changing country do not share the same level of practicality
