... the setting a chore, while still being long ago and different enough for people to associate them with adventure and to either romanticize or demonize certain aspects of them (the Middle Ages being associated both, and equally unjustly, with overblown notions of chivalry and nobility, and with everything "dark" and dirty). If you think of it, that is actually a very heady mixture for storytelling, offering opportunities for just about any approach. 4/4
