Could you share any links referring to those ex-Whatsapp employees showing that the company can read e2e encrypted messages? Discounting the "report message" function ofc, since in that case you are the one sharing a copy of your keys for the last batch of messages to WhatsApp. I believe there is an ongoing lawsuit against Meta that claims e2e encryption in WhatsApp can be bypassed by the company, but I'd be pleased to look at any evidence I may have missed.
