#Connection

For two years, he sent the first text.

Good morning.
Did you eat?
How was your meeting?
Drive safe.

One day he didn’t.

He told himself, Let me see what happens if I don’t carry this.

10 a.m. Nothing.
1 p.m. Nothing.
6 p.m. Still nothing.

At 8:47 p.m., she texted:
“Hey. You good?”

That was it.

No “I missed you.”
No “Why were you quiet?”

Just checking if he was still available.

The next morning he didn’t text again.

She didn’t either.

Two years of “connection” ended because he stopped holding it up by himself.

She never asked what changed.

If you’re the one generating all the signals in a “connection,” you’re not in a relationship, you’re running customer support.
