Decentralised unruggability
The Fishcake (nostr.build) · 128w
Think different, we’ve heard these slogans many times. They are important traits, but I am sure there is more to nostr than the eye meets. 🐶🐾🫡
mutatrum · 128w
The incentives are aligned with the user.

The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

The people who build on it and the people who enjoy what’s being built.

What I like the most is the experience that I'm engaging with real persons, not with a bot or some kind of interaction that was convey through an "engagement-algorithm"

- interoperable between apps - content curation by users - extensible to many use cases
tanel · 128w
zaps encourage the quality, value and necessity of the content and it’s a really nice positive feedback loop, that encourages the newcomers to adjust the aim of their content from “attention” to “value”.
nostr.build · 128w
- Bitcoin / financial payment network - Flexible dev platform - Real people support, connections, interactions - Positive based (Twitter is very negative and hate based)

I like that one of its primary uses is to greet people upon waking and before sleeping. It's building communities one GM and one GN at a time.

It’s purple and everybody loves purple

https://m.primal.net/HNOW.jpg Unfortunately it is a wasted opportunity: great developers have created a tool for real free speech and (N)Ostriches bury their heads in the ground wasting this opportunity to post silly useless messages which they could better post on Twitter and no one will ever censo...

It's the people. Oh, protocol... everything is signed. No, even better is that it makes public key distribution and discovery fun.

Censorship proof is by far the main draw.. I don't really see how it's superior outside if this.

Having options of multiple clients. This alone helps a lot of things I believe 1. Ensuring there is competition that drives the clients to provide the best UI/UX -i really love amethyst for the instant auto translation on posts, and the custom emoji 2. Ensuring user can vote with their "feet" if a...

The nostr markets are interesting because a decentralized laize-faire capatalist marketplace on the Internet is a radical change from the status quo. I love how we don't need permission to speak and how this whole thing is not created by corporations. Corporations can be controlled by the governmen...

If you write decentralized few will understand So I would go for : as close to peer to peer as it gets, permissionless Because it’s a protocol it allows building applications on top the internet native value stack which is BTC LN

You named two things I like, but not the ones I am most fascinated about ;) So here's some notes that came to my mind the moment I read your note: - Open Protocol - Different trust model (you can write to many relays but don't have to trust them since you can just move and re-broadcast any time) - ...

The the Nostr population is full of likeminded people who see the value of open permission-less protocols on the internet and the benefits they provide. At the moment nostr is a great filter of plebs and folks who see a positive and less Orwellian future around the corner. Also censorship- Freedom ...

One protocol to rule all the clients. It was fairly easy to on-board. And the usage is similar to Twitter (I'm no power user).

It provides non-repudiation. It removes the need to screenshot a post. You can copy the entire event and repost it anywhere and it's either signed by the author or not. You can easily tell if someone altered a screenshot or if someone actually posted it.
