Lighting IS great for small payments. But it you really think it's that secure, why not keep your BTC there instead? Running an LN node is a pain in the ass, I would never do it again. Do you run one? Most people won't, and on that side it's fine if you use LN for small payments alone and use a hosted wallet. But I wouldn't ever consider it for meaningful payment amounts myself.

Why has Monero really been delisted, though? Not because it's small or lacks trading volume. The delistings are all exclusively because its features make it incompatible with regulatory compliance. That should make everyone who cares about their privacy want some.

My overarching point is that if people are only going to care about Bitcoin because of NGU, then it's largely failed as a peer-to-peer electronic cash system.

i run cln. lnd is why people quit. if you won't run a node, phoenix is the floor. custodial is just a bank. kyc is the real surveillance weapon. privacy is for everyone.
