Isn't this already doable with Taproot Assets? If so, this attack vector is nothing new. Does the broader market want stables more than it wants Bitcoin? Go talk to the broader market and convince its members that they should choose Bitcoin or Monero.

As for miners barely being able to survive in the next prolonged bear market, what makes you think some or most of them cannot simply go bankrupt, but will somehow successfully enable a MASF sneaking in an initially tolerable form of demurrage?
