I’m not so sure. That seems like a temporary solution to me. It will inevitably implode at some point. But it’s an interesting topic to discuss. Hard to wrap my head around how it would actually work.

I don't think those with the wealth and power want to share any of the gains so either you have an increasingly devaluing currency for the masses who's lives become increasingly perilous and controlled or they're just left to rot and die. Finding it hard to be enthused by either scenario.

Why is it necessary? It's cheaper to kill off the "useless eaters/breeders."

A ship full of people is slower if it stops for everyone that falls off the boat. If pirates are in pursuit, slowing too much to save stragglers is deadly for everyone aboard.

It's not possible to finance UBI longterm

All forms of universal welfare tend to get reduced over time (Social Security), so trying to rely on UBI is like jumping onto a sinking ship.
