There's "the goal of making this website is to provide this information".
And there's "the goal of making this website is to give me practice with this technology that all the megacorps use".
The former's been a solved problem since like 1995, but zero megacorps are gonna pay you the big bucks to know how to set up a perl script that automatically decorates and links raw text files you ftp up there, so everyone who wants those gigs presses all their sites into servicing the second goal too.
