so chat i just did a side quest, picked a datacenter in my area, looked up their property tax history and compared it to nearby industrial & commercial lots
the datacenter paid ~1.1% of its property value while the other businesses in the area paid ~0.7%, ~0.9%, and ~1.6%, with the one on the higher end being for paying off water/sewer construction while being outside of city limits

Nike, my dear boy, the point is that selling point of data centers, the increased tax revenue, is false, they will set up im your town, on the tax payers dime, bribe a handful of politicians with a mere $10,000 campaign donation and be largely exempt from taxes. Also, theu don't Show more
