I still don't understand why it needs to be a requirement. Why do you even want to "reach out to me"? If I don't subsribe to project updates with projects that I support, why would I want you to "...

Hey Lassdas,

I can appreciate where you're coming from. You want to fund in your own terms.

And we didn't consider that some users might really not want to add their email.

As mentioned before, it can be useful for things like Project Updates (if you follow projects) and getting Geyser nerwsletter (only if you actively subscribe).

But it does becomes quite important when contributions do not go through - you will receive an email if a contribution fails by email. It may take up to 2 minutes to get a payment confirmation to the Boltz Swap) and users might leave the browser and may not realize that contribution failed.

In this case they'll get an email that a contribution has failed and that they need to claim refund.

This is the first pushback we received about this, and we're open to revisit it. But right now i dont really see a strong reason not to ask for email. If you're into privacy there are all sorts of ways to maintain privacy with email.

Thanks for engaging in the conversation - all in all, I agree that when it comes to Nostr asking for an email could seem strange, but it comes with some overall benefits in platform experience.

Thanks for everything you do to push Bitcoin adoption forward, truly appreciate your support and feedback!
