There wouldve probably been Phillipinos and other nationalities onboard who are nothing to do with the war. Theyre the backbone and the cheap labour that gets chewed up by the global shipping industry...

They chose to crew an illegally operating vessel transporting Russian oil. They certainly got paid extremely well for it; the vessel itself is very unusual and had to do all kinds of dodgy things to make the trip.
That crew is just as much involved as foreign volunteers are who choose to right for Russia. And they deserve to die for their involvement.
