Do you weigh you coffee beans? Measure with a scoop? Just guess?

I have been weighing my beans before grinding ever since I started using a French Press years ago an especially since I moved on the the AeroPress in more recent years.

While sipping on my Med/Light Guatemalan this morning I was curious who else weighs their beans or what method you use.

Yes to weighing. I used to just wing it, but now I'm a convert. French press is my daily go-to, but the occasional espresso is never unwelcome. GM!

Even though coffee roasting is my business, for personal use, I use dry measure (scoop). I drink the same stuff every day, so I know what tastes good. If I were trying different varietals and roast levels all the time, I would weigh it.

I measured mine before grinding for a while to get an idea of how much coffee we were consuming. But now I just fill the grinder to the same level. I’m very happy with my new glass Aeropress that I acquired last year when I felt wealthy.
